The Gospel

1) God created us for His glory.
“Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory” (Isaiah 43:6–7). God made all of us in his own image so that we would reflect His character and moral beauty.

2) Every person should live for God’s glory.
“Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). The way to live for the glory of God is to love Him, trust Him, obey Him, and give thanks to Him. When we do these things we glorify the Lord.

  • Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
    (Matthew 22:37)

  • Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God. (Romans 4:20)

  • Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:20)

  • In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

3) We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “Although they knew God they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks to Him . . . . but exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images” (Romans 1:21–23). None of us has loved or trusted or thanked or obeyed God as we ought.

4) We all deserve eternal punishment.
“The wages of sin is (eternal) death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Those who did not obey the Lord Jesus “shall suffer the punishment of eternal destruction and exclusion from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His might” (1 Thessalonians 1:9). “They shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life" (Matthew 25:46).

5) In his great mercy, God sent forth his only Son Jesus Christ to provide for sinners the way of eternal life.
“God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). “Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18).

6) Eternal life is a free gift to all who will repent of their sin, trusting in Christ as Lord and Savior.

"They went out and preached that people should repent." (Mark 6:12) "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:32) “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). “By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9). “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20)

"He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will,"

(Ephesians 1:4-5)

What we believe

Graciously Reformed - meaning we believe that God is the Sovereign Initiator, Sustainer, and Finisher in every believer's salvation, and all glory belongs to Him.

Graciously Complementarian - meaning that the Lord has given complementary roles in the church and home to Men and Women.

With respect to the doctrines of grace in salvation and the glory of God and the roles of Men and Women, we graciously welcome you if your understanding of these biblical doctrines vary, having a humble attitude which builds the body, and doesn't stir up dissension, and continually, leads us all deeper into the Word and obedience to Christ for the glory of God.

Elders

Elders have a weighty responsibility before the Lord, as you can see in the scripture below. Elders of the church are called by God to oversee the spiritual well-being of our flock and will be held accountable for this work.

Elder/pastor/shepherd/overseer/bishop are all interchangeable terms in the New Testament: Elder describes the calling, while the rest of the terms describe the main roles or functions of the elders in the church, and the things they are called to do.

Elders lead/ oversee/ direct the church (1 Timothy 5:17; Titus 1:7); shepherding the flock (1 Peter 5:2), teaching and preaching the Word (1 Timothy 3:2; 1 Timothy 5:17; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9), being an example to the flock, serving humbly and generously (1 Peter 5:2-3), protecting the church from false teachers (Acts 20:17, 28-31), exhorting and admonishing the saints in sound doctrine (1 Thessalonians 5:12; 1 Timothy 4:13; Titus 1:9), praying (James 5:14; Acts 6:4), keeping watch over their souls (Hebrews 13:17), and judging doctrinal issues (Acts 15:6)
